mypensionID enables you to communicate with your pension provider using a combination of biometrics and liveness techniques. It confirms and authenticates personal identity to official validated documents. All within minutes.

Using innovative and proven mobile technology and biometrics, mypensionID offers a secure and convenient way for you to keep your pension scheme data up to date, ensuring you never lose touch with your pension pots and control the information you receive. You own and are in control of your data.

HOW TO REGISTER

If you have received an invitation letter from mypensionID, all you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions to onboard with mypensionID. You’ll need the 12-digit Unique Security Code from the letter and you’ll need to verify your identity with a selfie and a valid government issued photo identity document (passport, driving licence or national ID card).
After you’re set up, you can create a 5-digit passcode to log in faster in future.

Edited September 2021. Decided to try again after the update. This time it actually worked but not without its quirks. Lighting seems to be an issue, requires strong even light or it does not detect your face. Passport scanning is even more sensitive. Scanned mine then refused to scan my wife's. July 2020 Useless, same as last year. All I get is "oops can't detect your face". Current model of Android phone, plenty of light, even tried different backgrounds. Total waste of time.

Total disaster..... Apparently successfully completed on either 2 or 3rd attempt ( no definitive 'successfully verified' box... ) Sometimes both positive and negative step advice. Photo was a nightmare, too dark, too light, blink, don't move ( over a minute?), I found out I was successful via email the day after. Easier to fill a form in and mail it!!! The 'big tick' if successful box the developer states happens did not happen for me. Does not work the way they state.

Dear Mr Jones If successful registration the app displays a big tick and screen saying, congratulations. You cannot see your dashboard without this screen. If you require support please contact our online team. The screen is part of the programme and would be impossible for it not to appear.

I tried to use this app in 2022, and failed miserably, so was very apprehensive about trying again. After manually uninstalling the old version (the app should have been able to manage this - instead, it just saw that the app was already installed), and installing the latest version it was all good, even to my mobile in Australia. Highly recommended !!
